WARMACHINE - Learning Game

Steve and I played our first Warmachine game.  He was teaching me the basics.  I have decided to play the Khador faction, which is vaguely Russian, which I love!  Steve is playing Cryx.  We have two other friends that are going to play, also.  Jerry is playing the Cygnar and Peter might be using the mercs.

Here are some pictures from my training game.  Steve cleaned my clock the first game.  Then we switched sides.  He again demolished me with my own forces, but I have a much better feel for the game.  It was a lot of fun, and we are going to play every other week so I can really get the rules and strategies down.

Along with Malifaux, this just might be the miniature game I have been looking for.

  2. Sounds like it was a good learning game if nothing else. I'm definitely looking forward to getting myself into the game and trying out some killer combos etc.

  3. Learning from Steve is like calling a steer a bull. The steer is grateful for the honor, but would rather have returned what is rightfully his. :) It was a good time, and I do have a much better grasp of the game mechanics.

  4. Reading that analogy made me feel dirty. Bleh.

It wasn't that bad- I had to demonstrate that the game depends on understanding the synergy of an army, which I accomplished. Of course, understanding the rules is helpful (also accomplished). After our games, Rob wrote up a new army, having learned from his game, that I think shows that he will do fine. Of course, we'll have to see ;).

Iron Lich Asphyxious is your next killer, Mr Rob!
